Identity serves Latino youth and their families, and was founded in 1998 to empower Latino youth to reach their full potential through culturally and linguistically competent youth and family-based initiatives. Identify was featured in the 2006 Catalog of Philanthropy, http://www.catalogueforphilanthropy-dc.org/2006/identity_9931.htm. It was honored by the Hispanic Democratic Club of Montgomery County in 2006 with its Latino Youth Education & Empowerment Award given in recognition of extraordinary and sustained leadership in empowering the Latino community in Montgomery County. Identity has received many awards for its programs that help, support, develop and nurture area youth.
