Community Clinic, Inc., was founded in 1972 to provide quality primary care and health-related services for medically under-served persons.  CCI has five Montgomery County centers that serve more than 22,000 children and adults annually, in addition to an administrative office in Rockville.  Staff are sensitive to cultural preferences, and bi-lingual employees work at each clinic.  Volunteers assist with translation as-needed.  CCI has a 12-year old WIC program that served more than 20,000 women and children in 2006.   CCI's WIC program is busiest at the Takoma Park office where more than 7,600 participants are enrolled, making CCI the largest WIC center in Maryland. ( WIC Appointments: 301-493-7373).  The MD Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has a multi-year WIC contract with CCI, recognizing the significance of WIC services to the health and well-being of women and children.  CCI’s primary care program had nearly 8,000 patients in 2006, an 11-percent increase over 2005.
