ALDI is a discount grocery store which underwent major renovations and expansion in 2012. With its select inventory, private labeling and buying, ALDI is able to offer quality, everyday packaged foods, frozen foods, and fresh produce at low prices. Its mostly private label brands, produced to the chain's quality standards, and sold only in ALDI stores. Shopping carts are available for a 25 cent deposit, which is returned when the cart has been re-stocked. Many customers bring their own bags so that ALDI will not charge them for a shopping bag. The ALDI chain operates 900 stores in 28 states.
