Recycle Instead of Dumping

Montgomery County businesses are legally required to recycle and DEP’s Solid Waste Division’s SORRT (Smart Organizations Reduce and Recycle Tons) Program is the tool for achieving compliance. SORRT educates, offers information, and ensures that all businesses and employees are aware of the county's recycling policies and practices.

Bulk Tree Purchase Program

The City's Public Works Department runs a bulk tree purchase program for property owners in the City to buy several species of young trees during Springtime. This is an ideal way for commercial property owners to add some greenery to their landscaping at a reduced cost.

New Hampshire Avenue Community Greening Program

The City's Planning Department is currently working with residential and institutional communities to plant and maintain gardens on public or private land along the New Hampshire Avenue Corridor.  The purpose of this program is to strengthen community ties and beautify the Avenue.
